JEE-Advanced 2018 Results
The candidates can check the JEE-Advanced 2018 Results upon declaration of the same. The results can be checked online from the official JEE Advanced 2018 portal https://results.jeeadv.ac.in/. Follow the process below to check the JEE-Advanced 2018 Results –
- Visit the official JEE advanced website and click on the results link
- Enter your application number and date of birth. Click on submit
- Download scorecard and take the printout of it
Only the top 2.4 lakh rank holders in JEE-Main are eligible to appear for JEE-Advanced. However, until 2017, only 2.2 lakh candidates were able to sit for the examination. Also, out of these many students, only 20,000 gets a rank. To get into the IITs, candidates with the best scores, as per the JEE-Advanced Results, gets to attend the Counselling Process.
JEE-Advanced 2018 Counselling
Joint seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts the JEE-Advanced 2018 counselling for admissions into IITs, NITs, ISM, and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTI). After the declaration of Results, candidates who manage to secure the minimum cut-off marks can take part in the JEE-Advanced 2018 Counselling Process. The qualified candidates need to register themselves for the Counselling process. Seat allocation is completed in 6 rounds. The Candidates must check their JEE Advanced 2018 Seat Allotment at the end of every round. Once the seat is allocated, proceed with Online Payment to book the provisional seat allocation.
Point often overlooked, the important documents to carry for the JEE-Advanced 2018 Counselling Process are Original and photocopy of the admit card; 10th and 12th marks card and JEE Main results; Caste certificate only if required; Migration certificate issued by any recognized board; 3 recent coloured passport size photographs.

Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE-Advanced) is an annual entrance exam for Engineering Admissions in India. The JEE-Advanced is conducted by seven zonal Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). The seven zonal IITs are IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur and IIT Bombay. The IITs conducts the examination under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). JEE-Advanced is used as the sole admission test for 23 IITs. Other universities like IISERs, Premier IISc, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology also use these scores as the basis for Admissions. JEE Advanced is one of the toughest exams in India and thus candidates really need to work hard and consult the best JEE-Advanced Reference Books to perform exceedingly well.
JEE-Advanced 2018 Eligibility
Candidates who have already cleared the minimum cut-off marks of the JEE-Main exam are eligible to apply for the JEE-Advanced Examination. Also, the total number of attempts for JEE-Advanced 2018 are 2 times in consecutive years. To apply for JEE-Advanced, the General Category candidates should be born on or after 1/10/1993. However, provision for the Reserved (SC/ST/PWD) Category candidates is on or after 1/10/1998. The candidates should have 75% marks (General Category) and 65% marks (Reserved category) in 10+2 qualifying exam.
JEE-Advanced 2018 Syllabus & Exam Pattern
JEE-Advanced is probably the most unpredictable exam. This is because, the paper pattern is different every year, with a different marking scheme. Thus, candidates go through the previous years’ papers to get a fair idea about the examination. Additionally, the JEE-Advanced consists of 2 papers – Paper I & paper II. It is an online exam for a duration of 3 hours. Both the papers are of 186 marks each, taking it to a total of 372 marks. The language for the paper is in English and Hindi.

Physics: General Physics, Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, Modern Physics, Thermal Physics.
Chemistry: Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry.
Mathematics: Trigonometry, Algebra, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Vectors, Analytical Geometry.
JEE-Advanced 2018 Application Details
Candidates who are willing to apply for the JEE-Advanced 2018 needs to fill up an application form. The registration can be done either in online or offline mode. At the time of registration, candidates require to enter personal details such as Candidate name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Password (generated at the time of registration) and some other details.
Follow the steps to submit the JEE-Advanced 2018 Online Application Form –

- Fill in personal details, academic details, communication details
- Choose desired exam center and question paper medium. Click on submit
- Upload photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression
- Upload 10th and 12th mark-sheet and caste certificate (if required)
- Straightaway, pay for the application fee and take the printout of acknowledging page
JEE-Advanced 2018 Admit Card & Exam Centres
The exam centres are given zone-wise for the JEE-Advanced exam. Candidates can select their preference of exam centres while filling the Application form. However, candidates cannot change the choices later.
The Admit cards for the JEE-Advanced are available for download from the official website https://www.jeeadv.ac.in/. The Admit Cards are also termed as Hall tickets. These hall tickets must be carried along with Government ID proof to the exam centre. Failing to do so will result in strict actions. The candidates are advised to take printouts of the Admit cards and preserve till Admissions.
